South Korea's industry minister to visit US
South Korean Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun (pictured) will travel to the United States next week, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said on Sunday. "The upcoming trip to the US will focus on ensuring a stable business environment for South Korean firms in the United States and seeking to enhance cooperation with the new US government in areas that include industry, trade and energy," he said, according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap.
Ahn is expected to meet with Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and visit SK Group's electric vehicle battery plant in the state. Later in the week, he will travel to Washington, where he will meet with lawmakers and "request their support for the stable investment and business operations of South Korean companies" in the US.
