Russia warns retaliation after downing ATACMS missiles
The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Saturday that it intercepted an attempted missile strike on the Belgorod region by Ukraine using US-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles. Combat crews operating S-400 and Pantsir-SM systems reportedly shot down all missiles during the engagement. Moscow has condemned the attack, attributing it to Kyiv’s collaboration with Western nations, and vowed retaliatory measures in response.
Over the past 24 hours, Russia reported destroying four tanks, dozens of vehicles, and artillery systems, while eliminating over 540 Ukrainian personnel. The Defense Ministry highlighted cumulative Ukrainian losses, asserting continued efforts to repel what it describes as acts of aggression and protect Russian territories.
