Netanyahu said to hold security meeting amid hostage talks
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for an urgent security meeting with a group of ministers amid the "progress" in negotiations with Hamas over the release of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli Army Radio reported on Sunday.
According to the report, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich will attend the meeting. The Times of Israel also reported on Netanyahu's urgent call for a security discussion, citing an aide to one of the Israeli ministers who did not confirm whether the hostage talks would be the topic of the meeting.
Israel's Channel 12 previously reported that one of the main obstacles to reaching a ceasefire deal in Gaza is that Hamas refuses to name the hostages that would be released during the first stage.
