Brazil welcomes Indonesia to BRICS

The Brazilian government announced on Monday Indonesia's entry into BRICS as a full member.

"The Brazilian government congratulates the Indonesian government on its entry into BRICS. With the largest population and the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia shares with the other members of the group the support for the reform of global governance institutions and contributes positively to the deepening of cooperation in the Global South, priority themes for the Brazilian presidency of BRICS, whose motto is Strengthening Cooperation in the Global South for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance," the government said in a statement.

Brazil is the current holder of the BRICS presidency in 2025.
