Bitcoin jumps over 3.5% amid rise in demand

Bitcoin jumped to its highest level since December 19 on Monday, surging over the $100,000 mark. The world's largest cryptocurrency saw renewed interest from traders, with MicroStrategy buying 1,070 Bitcoin for $101 million. Meanwhile, Congress certified Donald Trump's election victory earlier today. During his presidential campaign, Trump positioned himself as a pro-crypto candidate, promising to ease regulations and calling for the US to build a strategic reserve of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin soared 3.65% at 5:23 pm ET, going for $101,980.644, while Ehereum added 1.24% and sold for $3,680.4593.
